The first days of the retreat are focused to become present, calm down and learn to listen to your inner voice while sharing the experience with like-minded people.

Through heart-connecting activities like journaling, dance, and mindfulness practices, you'll reconnect with your authentic self and learn to listen to your inner voice—a heart full of love and wisdom.

Additionally, you will have enough free time for yourself, to enjoy the pool, sauna, ice-bath, to walk through Ubud, to have a massage, or to share wonderful moments and create bonds with other souls, who are, like you, on their own journey.

Most of our activities take place in the beautiful, open social area of the Gaia Villa with a stunning and inspirational view to the nature of Bali - what helps us to connect even further to our heart and to become present. To take the most out of each session.

Each day we will have practices to connect to our heart, move our body, learn to eat mindfully, and reflect our food relationship.

Coaching approach: Inhabitants of your heart

 

The coaching sessions and mindful practices facilitated by Kendra during the retreat will be based on the 'Inhabitants of the Heart' coaching model. This unique approach was developed from Kendra's own journey of overcoming 15 years of bulimia and emotional overeating. Inspired by models like Internal Family Systems, Six Step Reframing NLP, Inner Team, and Inner Bonding, this method integrates all the steps and inner parts work that she found helpful.

At the retreat, we will explore the NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) approach, which posits that we hold all the answers and solutions within us and that every thought, feeling, and behavior stems from a positive intention. Through inner part work, you will connect deeply with your authentic self and other parts of your personality, uncovering the true needs and reasons behind your eating habits.

This is a crucial step to transforming your relationship with food. By meeting your heart's inhabitants, engaging in dialogue with them, and integrating their insights, you can understand and heal the parts of yourself that influence your eating behaviors, leading to lasting changes.

You'll explore your true needs and authentic self, uncovering the reasons behind your cravings and empowering you to address the root causes of your eating habits. This process enhances your emotional well-being and helps you embrace self-love.

To achieve this, our time together will include a blend of NLP coaching, meditation, visualization, journaling, and conscious dance. These tools will help you develop a loving connection with your inner parts, leading to greater clarity, self-understanding, and self-compassion.

    Therefore, the meditations:

  • It is not just writing a diary! Journaling is a mindful and intuitive writing method. It is a technique that helps us to connect better with ourselves as we put our thoughts on paper. In this way, we are able to observe our thoughts and not identify with them. We can reflect on our thoughts, feelings and emotions.

    The benefits of this tool are:

    - We gain more clarity and consciousness of our thinking processes, or limiting beliefs. We can easier change perspectives, find solutions or get new ideas.

    - For our mental health: Calm down our stress level, nervous system, change our perspective regarding some problems/ challenges we face,

    - Room for more creativity as writing clears our mind and makes new space in our brain: Recurring / automatic thoughts about past things that upset us, stress us, worry us etc. can be written down to calm them down, take away their urgency and make them easier to let go of

    - Gain deep insights about yourself, your values, your limiting beliefs and what really moves you inside. In this way create a feeling of deeper connection to ourselves

    - Manifestation power: Celebrating ourselves through writing down what we are grateful for and appreciate about ourselves, and our life, helps us to create more of it. Also, writing down our dreams and wishes sends the right signals into the universe

    During the retreat, we learn:

    - Specifically, how to write a dialogue with our heart voice / inner parts because we have all the wisdom within us, we just didn’t learn to listen carefully. With this technique, we can start the learning process of doing so.

    For mindful eating: Together with heart-connected mediation, it can become your tool to reflect your relationship with food, understand and transform it. And it is a powerful technique you can use in moments of food cravings to stop overeating and understand the true root and need behind your food craving

  • During a cacao ceremony, you drink raw cacao from Bali. Pure cacao has lots of benefits. However, one of the most powerful ones is that it is a medicine for self-love, as it helps us to activate our mind and heart.

    A cacao ceremony is all about taking time for yourself. To spend some quality time with your heart. A moment where you can be kind to yourself. You connect to yourself and the spirits of the cacao.

    Thanks to the deeper connection, you can experience a wise moment in which you receive true answers / messages from the depth of your heart.

    It is also a moment where we can say positive affirmations to ourselves. The cacao helps us to manifest them better and integrate more in our body.

    The beauty of a ceremony is that you share this moment with other people. This makes the experience even more special because you vibrate in a more positive energy. Additionally, you listen, sing and maybe dance together to nice mantra songs. As you can share your experience with the others, you can get new ideas and perspectives for your own self-love journey.

    We will combine the cacao ceremony with a conscious heart dance session. This allows us to connect even more to the magic of cacao and maybe receive deeper messages or just enjoy a moment of dancing and smiling to yourself

  • It is a free-form, and we move our bodies freely to the rhythm of the music. It is a dance without words, so that we enter a meditative state. In this way we can connect our body, mind and heart. It’s an activity where we can be our authentic selves.

    There is no right or wrong. We move our bodies just as they want to move to the music of the DJ.

    As soon as you enter the dance floor, you are invited to let go of judgements and expectations, and allow yourself to feel your sensations and emotions. But no worries, it is completely ok to sit/rest/observe at anytime

    Kendra designs her DJ sets and dance facilitations to invite your heart to the dance floor, to go deeper, get more insights.

    But most importantly: A dance to celebrate ourselves.

    That is great. You don’t need to have any experience to be able to fully enjoy and take benefit from all the activities. Just be curious and open-minded. All facilitators are there to support and guide you and to reply to all of your questions.

    That is great. We promise you, you will not be bored because our journey to connect to yourself is a life-long journey. In any stage we will get new inspirations, get different learnings about ourselves and every instructor has its unique form of teaching. Kendra

Hello, I'm Kendra, passionate about heart connection and founder of Selflove Journey.
Through my own experience, I have learned that by connecting with ourselves, we can find our authentic selves and have the courage to live a life shining our light and full of happiness.

One day in Colombia, while practicing mindfulness and gazing at the Caribbean Sea, I heard the voice of my heart saying to me: "You should lead retreats to teach heart connection". Thus began my adventure as a soulpreneur and traveler.

Today, as a certified NLP heart coach, I lead retreats, journaling and meditation sessions, conscious dances, cacao ceremonies, women circles, individual coaching sessions and group workshops, focusing on connecting to the heart - where we find all the answers and self-love. My focus and niche is on guiding individuals on their recovery journey from binge-eating, bulimia and emotional eating through reflection and understanding the root causes of these limiting behaviors and patterns.

I have navigated this path, I understand the highs and lows of overcoming struggles with food, self-image and lack of self-worth. For 15 years, I battled with bulimia—a journey that made me following the voice of my heart to finally embrace my authentic self.
